Privacy Policy

TEDxArendal store and process personal information when you sign up for the event. We also collect data from our website and through our event-app. This personal information is your name, email, and where you work. We do not collect names and personal information at an individual level on the website. When you are on our website, it is not possible for us to see who you are. Only which country you come from, when you were there, and how long you were there.

What do we do with the information?

We use your information to talk to you before, during, and after TEDxArendal. If we observe that you have not been informed of an important detail, we can send you an email, giving you the information you need. We also use this information to provide you with general information about this year’s event. Who is talking when? What are they going to talk about? What happens outside the mainstage? How do you download our app? How can you utilize the app in the best way? In order for us to provide you with the answers to these questions, we use your email to contact you through for example our newsletter.

We store your personal information for 2 years after this year’s event. This will be renewed if you register as a volunteer, buy a ticket, or download the app again the next year. If you do not, your information will be deleted after 2 years.

Arendal municipality are the responsible organization for your personal information. The administrators of TEDxArendal.com has the daily responsibility.

When do you give away personal information?

Mainly three places.

  • Volunteer: If you sign up as a volunteer, we get your phone number, email, name, and your prioritized list of working tasks, and the message you can attach.
  • Participant: If you buy a ticket to TEDxArendal we will get your name and email address, as well as the workplace if you provide this.
  • App: During the event, our TEDxArendal event-app will be used as a platform for communication between participants, but also between TEDxArendal and participants. Here we will access your name, your email address, and your workplace.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files being placed on your computer when you download a website. These provide statistics that we use to make the website and our digital services better. However, no personal information such as your name or email will be stored. If you want us not to use this information, you can change this in the security settings on your web browser.

We use Google Analytics for tracking websidte visitors and to improve the website. You can read more on Googles own website.
