Norway is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, but it has the highest sick absences in Europe. The statistics show that most sick leaves are due to muscle- and skeleton affliction and mild mental suffering. Silje has researched what actions can help them return to work and offers a solution to a much-debated topic in Scandinavia and all over the Western world. Is forcing people who are suffering back to work the solution? Or is there a better alternative?

Silje Endresen Reme is a psychologist and PhD at the University of Bergen and lectures at Harvard School of Public Health. She wrote a doctor’s degree about understanding and treatment of chronic afflictions, with a focus on actions to reduce sick leave due to these issues.
